A pair and a spare

These adorable blankets came from our dear friend, Elmily Schulze. Elm is currently living abroad in Ireland doing all sorts of fun and foreign things.

Booties!

I stopped by my favorite knitting shop, Red Purl in Niles, for the first visit in too long and was surprised with an adorable gift from Amy! Amazingly these little booties matched the Zobot's outfit perfectly... I guess it was meant to be.

3 Things I Love!

Plumbers Pipe Coat Rack

We have seen a lot of plumbers pipe shelves and coat racks around lately since it was brought to our attention while staying with Al and Malinda in their small Brooklyn apartment. Al built one for their entry way and it looks great. So we built some plumbers pipe shelves in our closet. They looked awesome, (photos later) but they were hidden in our closet. So we decided to find a few small ways to introduce the cool look into the rest of the house without being overrun by the industrial style. Whitney wanted a coat rack by the front door and i had been looking at this design for a while. We made a smaller version. Its working great so far...

Can't wait to try this!

Zooey's extra parents

We have been blessed with many people in our lives that espouse strengths we admire greatly and hope to encourage in our daughter. Some of these people are our oldest and dearest friends and we asked them to play a special role in Zooey's life. We asked Brion and Katie Burkett to be her actual God Parents because they are some of the most godly, faithful, and humble people we know. We asked Heather Quick to encourage and teach Zooey as she grows into a woman as a friend and ally. And Al Roundtree and Malinda Sorci agreed to play the important role of Arts and Culture Parents, teaching her about what is good musically, artistically, and about all things urban.

Last weekend we were very excited to have the Sorcetrees visit us on the farm and meet our little gal Zooey. We had a great time visiting Tim's work, eating and drinking, exploring the farm, catching up with each other, and documenting this fleeting moment of our lives.
